EWHN SIGNS EUROPEAN CITIZENS’ INIZIATIVE AGAINST TTIP AND CETA: ADD YOUR VOICE AND SIGN!

The European Work Hazards Network is part of the international campaign to prevent the US-EU Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Canadian-EU Comprehensive Trade and Economic Agreement (CETA). We are asking that people who are concerned about working conditions throughout Europe and the world join us in supporting the STOP TTIP Campaign.

This is because the provisions of TTIP and CETA put current and future measures and regulations taken to protect the health, safety and welfare of working people throughout the European Union at risk. As citizens in the EU we expect EU to look for mechanisms to protect individuals, consumers, communities and employees throughout Europe (and internationally) from possible exploitation. It should be adopting the precautionary principle in all areas of regulation instead of entering a treaty which will seriously threaten its use in the future. In addition, as the STOP TTIP campaign says: ‘TTIP and CETA include several critical issues such as investor-state dispute settlement and rules on regulatory cooperation that pose a threat to democracy and the rule of law.’
