EWHN Seminar on Prevention of Occupational Cancers, Torino, 30 Sept. 2011
In order to bridge the gap between its bi-annual conferences and to provide additional opportunities for strategic discussions, EWHN established one-day seminars on topical issues in the year between the EWHN conferences.
The rather informal, low-budget seminars are to be held the day before a normal EWHN Steering Group Meeting. The first seminar of that kind took place in Torino, Italy, on 30 September 2011.
The subject were "Prevention of occupational cancers" and it will be focussed on two aspects:
- Methods
- approaches on identifying as yet unknown causes and exposures of occupational cancers as a prerequisite for targeted prevention New methods /
Approaches of exposure reduction of well-known carcinogens The aims of the Torino seminar are: to exchange information on on-going activities regarding the prevention of occupational cancers from a workers’ perspective to establish closer co-operation between activists in this field to consider joint action on this issue across Europe
